“The all-new Acura ILX features a windswept exterior design with 5-passenger cabin, a choice of three powertrain options, including Acura’s first-ever gasoline-electric hybrid, and a well appointed interior that is smart, spacious and sporty. Brooklyn Hyundais Are Amongst the “Best Values In America”

By Lauren | Posted in News on Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 at 10:06 AM

Brooklyn Hyundai Dealers all know that Hyundai remains one of the fastest-growing car brands in America because its cars have great value. At Plaza Hyundai, we make sure our Hyundai customers understand that purchasing a Brooklyn Hyundai is one of the best decisions they could make. Four members of Brooklyn Hyundai lineup are among the Best Values in America, according to Vincentric, one of the country’s top sources for automotive data and analysis. Vincentric based its choices on an analysis of eight different cost factors:

  • depreciation
  • fuel
  • insurance
  • opportunity cost
  • financing, maintenance
  • taxes and state fees
  • repairs

Showing particularly low ownership costs and high value in the marketplace were:

Brooklyn Hyundai Tucson—The leader for another year in a row in the “Crossover, Compact, Entry-level” segment, the Tucson was lauded for its looks, but as Vincentric points out, “the Hyundai Tucson isn’t just easy on the eyes—it’s also easy on your wallet, with the lowest operating costs in this category.”

Brooklyn Hyundai Accent—Receiving strong praise for its latest redesign, the new Accent earned the No. 1 spot in the “Subcompact” class due to “its well-rounded scores, including better than average results with fuel, insurance, and operating costs.”

Brooklyn Hyundai Elantra—The Elantra’s victory in the “Compact Sedan” category was helped by “its best-in-class fuel and operating costs, along with a cost-of-ownership that was 6 percent lower than expected”—and ended a string of six straight wins for the Honda Civic.

Brooklyn Hyundai Genesis Coupe—The highest-rated “Mid-size, Coupe” was the Genesis, showcasing best-in-class marks for depreciation, insurance and repair costs; and remember, the 2013 Genesis Coupe will be in dealerships soon, wearing a refreshed exterior design and an available 348-hp V6 engine.

“The Accent, Elantra, Genesis Coupe and Tucson are all prime examples of models that not only meet but exceed customer expectations when it comes to value,” said Scott Margason, director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Hyundai’s high fuel economy vehicles combined with its strong Assurance program reduces the overall cost of ownership and allows the company to offer quality vehicles with very strong residual values.”

How to Test-Drive At Our Brooklyn Car Dealership

By Lauren | Posted in News on Friday, March 30th, 2012 at 10:34 AM

One of the most important steps in purchasing a car is getting behind the wheel and giving it a spin! Plaza Auto Mall in Brooklyn promotes test-driving vehicles before purchasing because test-driving a car ensures that the car is the perfect fit for you and not the salesman. Don’t just drive it up the block either. Make sure you have a planned, organized examination of the vehicle(s) that you’re interested in. Our Brooklyn Car Dealership allows you to come in and drive Brooklyn New Cars or Brooklyn Used Cars free of charge! Here’s some steps to help you get the most out of your test-drive!

Do Your Homework

You can find information on cars from reviews from notable vehicle publications or you can grab details directly from our Plaza Auto Mall website. Study all the vehicle specifications and special features attached to the vehicle(s) that you desire. Also make sure to examine important specs like engine size and mileage.

Test-drive Without Staring At Your Watch

The thought of a speedy car process is delightful but test-drive the car when you have time to relax and fully analyze what the car is capable of. Test-driving in a rush defeats the purpose and hinders your ability to make the right decision. Take your time and get all the information you need from your sales representative.

Buckle up

Make sure your seatbelt fits you snugly.

The Salesman Isn’t Scary

Don’t be on edge about driving with your salesmen. He/She’s a great person to have along with you on the ride, in the case that you need to ask questions. He/She will help you get familiar with the car and is just there to be a reliable source. You can remind them if they become chatterboxes that you’ll listen to their pitch after the test-drive and enforce that you want to focus on getting the full feel of the car.

Cruise Different Paths

Brooklyn Car Dealerships already have routes laid out for test-drives, but you want to drive on as many different types of roads as possible – smooth, bumpy, curvy, and highways if possible. Ask the salesman ahead of time, so he can confirm your request and test out how the car accelerates and handles different type of road settings.

Test turning

Turn at varying speeds to see how the car handles the pressure of turning with acceleration. Turning is a huge part of regular driving, three-point turning and U-turns so this information is valuable.

Learn the Brakes

Get a good feel of the acceleration and brake hard to test the brakes. It’s important to know how the car handles stopping short.

Take A Look Around

Visibility is critical factor to purchasing any vehicle. When you switch lanes, are you seeing clearly? Looking thoroughly also means checking the car itself. Is the interior good enough for you? Do you have enough space? Accessible controls and a spacious environment dictates your level of comfort in a car. Is your seats adjustable? Are the passengers seats adjustable? Is it easy for them to get out of the car? Have passenger comfort be demonstrated to you.

We hope this helps!

Say Hello to the 2013 Genesis Coupe!

By Lauren | Posted in News on Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 at 3:13 PM

As we say goodbye to Winter and welcome Spring, we make room at Plaza Hyundai for new vehicles that were waiting for steady warm temperatures to debut themselves in dealerships. One of the vehicles that are being awaited this Spring is the Genesis coupe. If you have a love for two-door vehicles, the Genesis coupe is definitely hanging at the top of your list.

The Genesis coupe was first introduced four years ago at the 2008 New York Auto Show as an alternative to luxury coupes that were already grabbing the world’s attention. The Genesis coupe’s star quality was in its rear-wheel-drive chassis. The rear-wheel-drive chassis is rarely ever seen among cars that aren’t price-heavy and definitely unheard of from a Korean manufacturer. The Genesis coupe is a statement-maker beyond the rear-wheel-drive chassis, however. The attractive 2013 sports coupe has grown since 2008 to become more than just an affordable, good-looking coupe for the average man and has returned better than ever. The modifications include:

  • A twin-scroll turbocharger and a larger intercooler has been added to the Genesis’ four-cylinder engine causing the horsepower to boost from 210 hp to 274 hp and the torque to rise to 275 lb-ft from 223 lb-ft if the owner uses premium fuel. If the owner uses regular gas they’ll receive 260 hp and 260 lb-ft.
  • If a 3.8-liter Lambda V-6 engine is used instead, horsepower and torque are even higher at 344 hp and 292 lb-ft using regular gas and 348 hp and 295 lb-ft using premium gas. This 3.8- liter V-6 engine produces more horsepower than both the Infiniti G37′s V-6 and the BMW 335i’s coupe.
  • A completely redesigned front end that contributes greatly to the Genesis’ stylish appeal.
  • A revised cabin that’s more luxurious than other competing coupes.

The 2013 Genesis Coupe is making its way to Plaza Hyundai this Spring with the suggested Hyundai base price of $25,125- $35,125. It’s available with turbocharged 2.0L 4-in-line, 274 hp, 275 lb-ft; 3.8L V-6, 348 hp, 295 lb-ft engines. Drivers can choose between transmissions that come in 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic and the EPA mileage is 20/31 mpg (4-cyl) and 18/28 mpg (6-cyl).

Acura Debuts: ILX and RDX

By Lauren | Posted in Acura, Fuel Efficiency, News, Technology on Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 at 3:40 PM

The 2012 Chicago Auto Show had a lot of world debuts to the autoworld. Acura’s debuts included the Acura ILX and the RDX. The Acura ILX was brand new and Acura RDX was completely redesigned. Acura of Brooklyn will have both readily available for purchase as soon as they are released to dealerships later this year. By following our Facebook and Twitter pages, you can be kept the most up-to-date on Acura of Brooklyn’s inventory.

The 2013 Acura ILX luxury compact sedan is a brand new model for Acura that has been positioned as the “gateway to the Acura brand.” Three distinct powertrains will be included in Acura’s sporty and stylish ILX. This car will also mark the debut of Acura’s first hybrid powertrain. The interior of the ILX will not dissapoint fans of Acura’s luxury look with plenty of room to be comfortable. It’s new high-value features include a standard Keyless Access System with smart entry and pushbutton start, along with Pandora® internet radio interface and SMS text message function for smart connectivity with the world. Tech-savvy drivers are sure to be fully satisfied with these upgrades.

The new 2013 RDX, Acura’s Sport Utility Vehicle, will perfectly blend luxury and utility. A V-6 engine will run the RDX, making it much more speedier than the outgoing model. It will be producing 33 more horsepower, to be exact, but will still remain more fuel-efficient than of any gasoline-powered high-class SUV that are in its feild. Interior features include:

  • larger door openings
  • more passenger room
  • increased cargo volume
  • power rear tailgate

Top 10: Things to Keep in Your Car!

By Lauren | Posted in News, Parts & Accessories, Safety on Saturday, January 21st, 2012 at 4:26 PM

If you’re looking for a Car Parts in Brooklyn or Used Car Parts Brooklyn, Plaza Auto Mall is the place to go! But, Plaza Auto Mall doesn’t just want to sell you the car of your dreams, but help you enhance your driving experience! Here’s the Top 10 items you should keep in your vehicle when driving your new car in and out of New York! Most of these car accessories Brooklyn are available in our Honda Parts Brooklyn, Acura Parts Brooklyn, Hyundai Parts Brooklyn, Toyota Parts Brooklyn departments.

Hope for the best and plan for the worst. The simple saying with complex details is so often thought of relative to your career or finances, and rightly so, though it shouldn’t be overlooked in regard to your car. Even if you keep some travel-size supplies aboard for emergency grooming purposes, don’t overlook things for the car itself. Your cell phone is a must, but alone it can’t bail you out of every sticky situation. On the other hand, it doesn’t make sense to stash a few hundred pounds of provisions for everyday driving or even road trips. Strike a sensible balance with our top 10 things to keep in your car.

#10. Tire Gauge

A minute of your time every week can save hours if ever stranded, and it’s as easy as keeping a tire gauge in your car.  It’s fundamentally simple and obvious that a small patch of tire at each corner is your only connection to the road. What’s less realized is how critical proper inflation is to car safety and tire wear. Take a huge step toward preventing nastiness by using a tire gauge (digital is best and still reasonably priced) when tires are cold — before you drive. The ideal pressure will be indicated not on the tire itself but the driver’s doorjamb and in your owner’s manual.

Get a free tire rotation, for a limited time! Schedule an appointment online to have your vehicle serviced now!

#9. Oil

Even if your car runs perfectly fine, doesn’t smoke like a Russian teen, and you don’t have to top off the oil every time you gas up, keep a quart or two of oil ready. You won’t be able to forgo checking the dipstick often, the way you normally should. Instead, this emergency supply can be added roadside and allow you to limp your car to a safer place should the unforeseen happen. It‘s even more critical if yours is one of the many new cars requiring a specific kind of oil.

Change the Oil in your vehicle today! Use Plaza’s online Coupons by clicking here.

#8. Cell Phone Charger

Most of the cars we sell have phone docking and charging capability as a standard feature, which we hope to see more manufacturers offer in all trim levels. If this isn’t built in on your car, have a basic charger on hand, and use it often. If your car quits and you have to deal with a dead car battery, you might not have the ability to charge a drained phone.

#7. Flashlight

Yes, there is an iPhone app for a flashlight, and it can be extremely handy to have when the situation is inconvenient but not necessarily dire. It still doesn’t hold a candle to a proper flashlight, since it’s another big battery drain that was never really intended for use around a hot engine or poking around under a vehicle. Drop it once, game over. A good flashlight can withstand that and more while letting off more light.

#6. Flat Tire Fixer

To save on expenses, space or weight, several new cars don’t have spare tires. They rely on either run-flats or sealant in a can. The latter isn’t bad to have regardless of how your car’s equipped, since even spares lose air when they’re left unchecked or can fail once in use. The products can be found with various brand names, but they more or less have the same functions of sealing and inflating. Certainly a convenience and potentially a must-have when the surface isn’t stable enough for a car jack or there isn’t the time and space to safely change your tire with traffic whizzing by just inches away. Just be sure the one you’re buying is compatible with your tire type and won’t damage your tire pressure monitoring system once equipped.

#5. Booster Cables

Here’s another no-brainer for New Yorkers who winterize their cars annually, but even the those with the best vehicle upkeep need a boost now and then. As with some other things to keep in your car, check your owner’s manual to confirm the type of cables or booster system you can safely use. The traditional four-clamp setup may not be an option, or there may be specific points in your engine bay to serve as connectors, as opposed to the battery posts themselves. Just understand that a jump start is rarely the end of your problems; if you need it once, you’ll probably need it again unless other issues are addressed.

Shop any of our Plaza Parts Departments for model compatible jumper cables!

#.4 GPS & Map

If your car doesn’t have a built-in navigation system, keep a portable GPS with you. Just don’t rule out having a map onboard. As good as factory and portable GPS units are, they still sometimes flake out or can’t grab a signal. Besides, if your car’s out of power, you’re out of luck. Even if your phone has the capability, signal strength could again pose an issue. With a map, your biggest problem is folding the thing properly, which really is just another lost art anyway.

Discounts on GPS system on our Online Parts and Accessories store: www.PlazaParts.com or

#3 First Aid Kit

With roadside surgeries at an all-time low, you don’t have to keep an elaborate arsenal of medical gear in your trunk, but, until help arrives, a small kit of the essentials can make a big difference. Things like bandages, burn cream, antibacterial ointment, and pain reliever aren’t just things you will need for a family vacation. A poncho’s helpful too, functional as a makeshift blanket or to keep you dry when you’re stuck in the rain. Finally, a small extinguisher designed for automotive use keeps minor electrical and engine fires from getting out of hand.

#2. Food & Water

Food and water are things to keep in your car wherever you live or travel. Nothing elaborate here — you’re not hauling around four-course meals for five. The idea is that you’ll have the bare minimum to keep you going when help could be many hours away or the weather extreme. Compact, healthy foods with long shelf lives, like energy or protein bars, are great choices. Have a few bottles of water, and replace them all from time to time.

#1. Insurance Info & Vehicle Registration

Any meeting of metal is never good, but being able to contact your insurance carrier and exchange information helps. As for registration, it seems fundamental to have proof that you, your car and its license plates all belong together. Some guys get lazy and fail to put their registration in the glove box, while others have purposely taken it out to minimize the threat of identify theft. The latter could be a legit concern, but chances are your state laws require it.

Most of these must-haves are available here at Plaza Auto Mall on Nostrand Avenue (Including Vehicle Insurance at our on-site Insurance company, located in our Honda showroom!) Visit our Parts Department or order any part or accessory for your vehicle on our Online Parts Super Store. 20% OFF All items, any make, any model!

Honda & Toyota Tie For “Most American Car” Title

By Lauren | Posted in Honda, News, Toyota on Thursday, July 14th, 2011 at 6:20 PM

The two most American cars aren’t, well, American, according to a new ranking by our friends at Cars.com. Both the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry — two sedans from the two biggest Japanese automakers — are “more American” than General Motors’ Chevrolet Malibu and other vehicles from the Big Three.

The annual American-Made Index by Cars.com ranks the most-American vehicles based on what percentage of their parts are made here in the U.S., where they’re assembly, and how many are sold to Americans.

“In today’s global economy, there’s not an easy way to determine just how American a car is,” said Patrick Olsen, Cars.com editor in chief. “Most cars built in the U.S., for example, are assembled using at least some parts that come from somewhere else. Additionally, many U.S. automakers assemble vehicles in Canada and Mexico, while foreign automakers have opened plants on U.S. soil. Our index is another resource that car buyers can use to help guide their purchase decision.”

Both the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry are made with 80 percent of their parts coming from the United States. And, most of the models sold here are made here.

“Despite the disaster in Japan, and General Motors usurping Toyota as the world’s largest automaker, we’re not surprised to see the Camry in the No. 1 position again,” said Olsen. “The Camry remains an incredibly popular vehicle, and higher total sales require a higher number of U.S. factory workers and a larger number of U.S. suppliers – all of which contribute to Toyota’s ranking.”

Check out 2011 model year vehicles to see their percentage of domestic parts.

  1. Toyota Camry: 80%.
  2. Honda Accord: 80%.
  3. Chevrolet Malibu: 75%.
  4. Ford Explorer: 85%.
  5. Honda Odyssey: 75%.
  6. Toyota Sienna: 75%.
  7. Jeep Wrangler: 78% for 2-door, 79% for 4-door.
  8. Chevrolet Traverse: 75%.
  9. Toyota Tundra: 80%.
  10. GMC Acadia: 75%.
